About Madison’s Place Group
Madison's Place Group is a 501(c)3 New Jersey based nonprofit organization that offers an innovative and holistic approach to social services, career development, and behavioral health for families in need.
With a mission to support youth and adults in developing, discovering, and advancing their best selves, Madison’s Place Group was formed by Avia Johnson, a clinical social worker, currently in the process of completing her doctoral degree in social work.
Avia lost her husband to a ruptured brain aneurysm, before the birth of her daughter, Madison. Avia and Madison overcame many challenges on their pathway to health, with the support of their community.
Having worked with children much of her career, Avia recognized many of the same challenges that she faced with her daughter, in the behavioral health of the youth she served. Madison’s Place Group helps youth who have experienced trauma, and those with IEPs, to realize their full potential. The organization creates a pathway to support parents and caregivers in raising healthy, happy, socially & emotionally equipped children.
Youth, adults, and families reaching their full potential
Madison's Place provides opportunities for youth, 5- 18, and adults, 19-59, to improve their behavioral health and overall well-being through education & training, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, youth social skills development, youth career development, and educational advocacy for youth exhibiting at-risk and poor decision-making behaviors.
Many parents of youth with IEPs have difficulty interpreting, navigating, and advocating for their child[ren]. It can be a daunting process especially if parents are not aware of the legalities associated with the process of developing an IEP plan. Madison's Place staff are available for school advocacy support for parents when meeting with educators and school administrators. Advocacy services are available to parents in support of their child's full development.
